On November
10th and 11th, 2013, 18 PGA Tour
Pros will join Habitat for Humanity of Lake Sumter for the 2nd Annual Veterans
Housing Initiative in a Veterans Gala and Pro-Am Golf Tournament at Mission Inn
Resort. The event will be for the purpose of elevating the profile of
need for Veterans Housing issues. As part of the Veterans Housing
Initiative, Habitat for Humanity of Lake-Sumter completed a house for a
disabled Vietnam Veteran in Wildwood and has started a capital fund for
Veterans Housing that will provide them supportive services and hope.
The Veterans Housing Initiative is
a partnership between Habitat for Humanity of Lake-Sumter and LifeStream.
Serving as community catalysts, Habitat and LifeStream, in partnership
with the PGA Tour Players, are leading an effort to support and encourage the
estimated 2,800 servicemen and women returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.
The Veterans Initiative campaign is designed to raise the capital to fund
a vision that helps facilitate movement of Veterans towards self-sufficiency
and shelter.The PGA Tour Pros believe in the
cause enough to donate their time to play the Pro-Am with the desire to raise
money for the development and construction of Veterans Housing in Lake & Sumter
counties.
DETAILS OF THE WEEKEND'S EVENTS:
November 10th, 2013:
The Black Tie Veterans Gala held at Mission Inn & Resort will offer an evening of Hors d’oeuvres, music & dancing, a silent fundraising auction, and of course Mission Inn’s premium cuisine and dessert.
Tickets to the Event are available for $100 per person or $175 per couple.
November 11th, 2013:
Spend the morning playing with a PGA Pro on Mission Inn's El Campeon Golf Course. (Space is limited to the first 72 players who register and pay, so sign up

With your Registration Fee of $500.00, you will be able to play a full 18 holes of golf with a PGA Tour Pro, enjoy lunch, raffles, goodies and door prizes all for a great cause!
